Brief Description:
Handle the day-to-day activities of the reimbursement hotline (s) and/or
patient assistance program (s) to which the employee is assigned.
Handles moderately complex reimbursement cases by researching and
analyzing insurance issues related to the reimbursement of the products.
Manages the Specialty Pharmacy (s) to which program the employee is
assigned.
Specific Job Duties:
* Handles calls from healthcare professionals, patients, and sales
representatives
* Provides assistance with reimbursement inquiry requests
* Provides billing and coding information related to specific product
* Verifies patient insurance benefits
* Conducts general payer research
* Works with payers and healthcare professionals to resolve prior

organizations, CMS and Medical Professional Societies
* Manages the Specialty Pharmacy (s) by conducting the weekly telephone

* Provides ongoing communication with the Specialty Pharmacy (s), as
needed to assist with the management of each case
* Maintains updated coverage for all Medicare, Medicaid, and private
payers
* Travels to and attends related meetings/conferences as required
* Other duties as assigned by management
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Although there are no direct reporting responsibilities of team members
to the Reimbursement Specialist and Specialty Pharmacy Liaison, they are
responsible for the mentoring PCS team members with regard to
reimbursement and specialty pharmacy issues. This position also provides
ongoing team performance issues to the manager and during the annual
evaluation process.
Qualifications:
* Bachelors degree required, Masters degree preferred
* Clinical background or relevant industry experience required
* Knowledge of medical terminology preferred
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Computer skills with specific aptitude in Microsoft Office
* Customer service experience, preferred
* Analytical thinking skills
