Subject: Geriatric Psych Placement Assistance

Hello!

I am needing help with referral and placement to a Skilled Nursing Facility. The patient is a Veteran and is on Hospice services. Nursing documentation illustrates that the Veteran is combative and aggressive, however; he appears to be responding to stimuli that we can’t see. It’s just very hard for me to believe that there are few geriatric patients with these types of ‘behaviors’. 

He is also known to be kind and pleasant as well but has bouts that last about 48 hours when nurses have described that it is heartbreaking to watch him experience these hallucinations or experiences.

Any suggestions on placement options? Rather than post all of the places that I have referred to already on here, I’d love to hear your suggestions and begin to rule out. Please contact me personally at [log in to unmask]
