Description


The Carruth Center for Psychological and Psychiatric Services in the Division of Student Life at West Virginia University is seeking applications for a Behavioral Health Therapist/Case Manager. This position will be responsible for providing case management, short term counseling and coordinating and tracking client referrals and assignments. As an integral member of the Center's staff, the Behavioral Health Therapist will provide a range of clinical and outreach services and will participate in the supervision and training of the Center's graduate trainees.



In order to be successful in this position, the ideal candidate will:

  *   Provide brief counseling for individuals with diverse presenting concerns.
  *   Provide group counseling for individuals with mental health concerns.
  *   Conduct intake evaluations, triage, substance use consultation, crisis intervention services and participates in the staffing of the Center's drop in clinic and after-hours crisis phone.
  *   Provide consultation and outreach to clients and their families, WVU faculty/staff, and the university community.
  *   Complete required Center documentation on an electronic health record system and quality assurance activities including routine monitoring and management of student treatment compliance (i.e., missed appointments, cancellations, etc.) in accordance with agency policies and state and federal regulations.
  *   Attend meetings, case conference and other trainings that are held by the Center.
  *   Participate in regular clinical supervision with her/his/their clinical supervisor.
  *   Link students (particularly those at risk) to community and campus support resources.
  *   In conjunction with the Clinical Director, support agency drop in clinic especially in regard to triaging students, facilitating linkages and disposition of care, tracking outcomes and documenting activities.
  *   Assist with the development of expanded case management, outreach services and related activities to at risk populations.
  *   In conjunction with the clinical director and other agency staff, assists with the client assignment/waitlist list and related disposition of care.
  *   In conjunction with the director of psychiatry assist with psychiatric case management.
  *   In conjunction with agency staff, assists with the tracking of after hours response, CARE team data, and clinical data.

Qualifications


  *   MA, MS, in social work (MSW), counseling, clinical/counseling psychology, or related field is required.
  *   Completed internship that includes a primary rotation in adult outpatient counseling/ therapy (minimum of 400 hours).
  *   One (1) year case management experience.
  *   At least three (3) years of clinical experience post graduate degree completion.
  *   Experience providing short -term outpatient clinical services in a multidisciplinary setting.
  *   Experience providing services to diverse college population.
  *   Experience with Excel, Microsoft Access or similar software.
  *   Ability to navigate  and to collaborate with university and healthcare systems.
  *   Knowledge, skills, and expertise required to proficiently conduct, document and evaluate short term individual and group psychotherapy, crisis intervention, and consultation/outreach with a college-aged population.
  *   Knowledge, skills, and expertise required to provide multi-culturally-sensitive services.
