SPRING LUNCH AND LEARN AT ALTENHEIM RESOURCE CENTER IN WHEELING

The Spring Lunch & Learn workshop series that the Altenheim Resource Center
co- sponsors with Bethany College will focus on Special Populations. The
cost is $5.00 for each session. ONE Continuing Education Credit per session
is awarded on completion by Bethany College (490052) for WV Social Workers.
Registration is at 11:30 am and the workshops run from 12 noon - 1:00 pm.
The workshops are held at the Altenheim Resource Center, 1359 National Road,
Wheeling WV 26003. Bring your lunch and we'll provide snacks and
beverages.

March 9, 2010 - Autism. This program will give us an introduction to autism
and the services available.

April 13, 2010 - Homeless. Lisa Badia of the Greater Wheeling Coalition for
the Homeless will discuss the issue and incidence of homelessness and how
their agency addresses the problems of this special population.

May 11, 2010 - Bullying & Adolescent Girls will be the focus of the workshop
presented by Roseann Falcone and Megan McGee, Case Managers with Crittenton
Services.

These special topics impact not only the professional working with a younger
clientele but also those who work with the aging population. We see more
grandparents raising grandchildren who may be dealing with the issues of
autism and bullying. The issue of the homeless population is one that spans
the ages. Children, young adults and aging community members are affected.
Call us at 304 243-0996 or email [log in to unmask] for registration
information.
