NASW members in the Northern Panhandle area are planning a Branch Kickoff event during March 2010, which is Professional Social Work Month.
Local NASW members, as well as social work students and faculty of the WVU Wheeling MSW program, will meet on February 15th to discuss potential Branch activities. Fourteen NASW members and several students have expressed interest in participating.
A continuing education event entitled "Women and Addiction: Substances and Gambling" will be held on Tuesday, March, 9th at Ohio Valley Medical Center's Nursing Residence from 5:00-7:30 PM. This will be a panel presentation that open to the public, and a short presentation about NASW West Virginia Chapter and the Wheeling's MSW program. Social work students and faculty from Bethany College and staff of area social service agencies will also be invited.
