SEXUAL ASSAULT HELP CENTER, INC.
JOB OPENINGS
January 2010

The Sexual Assault Help Center in Wheeling, WV has three job openings
for Victim Advocates to provide services to children and/or adults
regarding issues of sexual violence in the Northern Panhandle of West
Virginia.

What are the three positions?
1.	Child Victim Specialist- provides direct services to child (ages
0-17 years) victim/survivors of sexual violence and their families.
Based in the Wheeling office. Full-time (40 hours/week) with benefits. 
2.	Prevention Education Specialist- provides community-based
education and awareness programs to children and adults regarding
various issues related to sexual violence (good touch/bad touch,
bullying, healthy relationships, dating violence/date rape, sexual
harassment, stalking, etc.). Based in the Wheeling office. Involves
travel within the Northern Panhandle. Part-time (20 hours week) with
flexible hours. 
3.	Licensed Professional Counselor/Therapist- provides professional
counseling/therapy to children who have been exposed to sexual violence
issues either directly or indirectly. Contract position (6 hours/week).
Based in Wheeling office.

What qualifications are required?
Child Victim Specialist and Prevention Education Specialist: 
-	Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in a social-service related
field (psychology, social work, child development, counseling,
education, etc.). Applicable state licensure not required but preferred.
 
Licensed Professional Counselor/Therapist:
-	Minimum of a Master’s Degree in a mental health field
(psychology, social work, counseling, etc.). Current applicable WV state
licensure IS required. 

What are the specifications?
-	General office hours Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:00pm with
flexibility for late afternoon, evening, and Saturdays as need dictates.
