A Message from Dr. Karen Harper-Dorton, Chair, WVU Division of Social Work:

Colleagues,

I am taking this opportunity to invite you to help welcome Dr. Jennifer Wheeler-Brooks to the Division of Social Work in Fall 2010.  Dr. Wheeler-Brooks comes to us from the University of Kansas, School of Social Welfare, where she completed her PhD.  Her dissertation is titled "That's the Thing with Community:  Social Networks and Asset Development".  Dr. Wheeler-Brooks will be teaching social welfare policy and COSA classes.  She will be moving to Morgantown this summer and joining us in August.

A second important position, Admissions and Academic Advising Coordinator, will be filled March 16, 2010.  Vanessa Drew will be joining us and available to assist with so many requests in student admissions and advising.  Currently, she is a doctoral student in the College of Human Resources and Education and holds the MSW from the Division here.  She is teaching SW 147 this semester for us as well.

Join me in welcoming our new faculty and advisor.  We are so fortunate to have both joining us.
