COUNSELOR (COMMED156) The West Virginia University Research Corporation (WVURC) seeks to hire 1 full time Counselor to support the Prescription Drug Abuse Quitline Counselor(PDAQ) in the Department of Community Medicine at West Virginia University. The incumbent counsels and advises individuals with prescription drug abuse or other addiction problems including abuse of alcohol, or other drugs to assist in overcoming dependencies, adjusting to life, and making adjustments to be in recovery. Responsibilities require knowledge of principles, methods, and procedures for diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of mental addiction dysfunctions and strong intra/interpersonal skills and ability to converse effectively with others in a professional manner. Requires a bachelors degree in Counseling or related field and 2 to 3 years experience in counseling or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
