The Nonprofit Education & Training (N.E.T.) is offering a one-day
workshop on Grant Writing and Grantor Research
This workshop is an introductory, beginner’s course on researching
prospective corporate and private foundation funders (using Foundation
Center “Cooperating Collection” resources housed at Shepherd’s
Scarborough Library) and the elements that create a fundable grant
request.  

The session is lead by Amy Owen, who has more than 15 years experience
in fundraising and currently serves as the executive director of the
Eastern West Virginia Community Foundation.   

Objectives:  At the conclusion of the course, participants shall be able
to:
1.  Understand the key elements common to a well-received private
foundation or corporate proposal request
2. Gain experience in developing a budget for proposal submission
3.  Experience first hand the necessary research systems and techniques
to
matching a propsoal request with a 
prospective funder
4.  Have the knowledge to keep proposals, requests, and timelines
organized
5 Experience first hand how funders make difficult decisions in choosing
one proposal over another.
