Subject: FEMA money available until Dec 31

 

Covenant House has just been awarded up to $11,500 to spend of FEMA ARRA
funds by end of next week.  Please refer people to the Covenant House
Drop-In Center if they meet the following qualifications.

 

Qualified persons must be:

*    Resident of Kanawha County

*    Have become unemployed within the past 12 months - or - Employed,
but had hours reduced in past 6 months

*    Fall below 200% income poverty guidelines

 

Candidates MUST show proof of above requirements.  Do not refer your
clients if they cannot bring documents to prove their identity, their
employment/unemployment status, or their income.

 

These funds can be used for:

*    Food

*    Utilities that have been terminated or are in termination

*    Rent

*    Mortgage payments

*    First month's rent

 

Candidates MUST bring proof of their expenses - such as utility
termination notice/bills, lease, or mortgage payment book.
