My uncle was my grandfathers only son . He served in the army in
Vietnam, he came home and it was never talked about. I'm proud of him
and my niece
My niece is currently in Turkey serving as a Marine in Intelligence, I
get choked up with what so many have done and suffered for FREEDOM...
THANK YOU

Jacki
I had two brothers to serve in the Viet Nam (I guess the official name
was police action) Conflict. Having survived that era myself I can
relate to you it was a very popular military action from the start said
to be necessary to stop the spread of Communism. Although some found it
necessary to highlight the tragedies of the conflict to bring it to an
end one thing is very evident those young men with dignity met the call
of the nation and went into harm's way to protect the same values we as
American hold true today. My brothers and many other boys became men in
Viet Nam and they never flinched at answering the call of this nation.
Those men are Heroes to me as all the veterans like my third brother who
served in the Air Force post-Viet Nam. I really loved that definition of
a Veteran (signing a blank check). Thanks for the opportunity to open my
heart regarding Veterans!
Clarence

Jacki ~
Awesome reads. My dad served in WWII, his father in the military and
uncles, my husband, my brother and his two sons active duty now, one a
special operative in the Army the other a pilot in the Marines. I loved
hearing Ray Charles on the radio today singing America. Always brings me
to tears, with pride.

My father served in WWII and the Korean conflict as a ball turret gunner
in the US Air Force. I have enjoyed sharing stories with my 9 yr. old
grandson about his great-grandfathers service to our country and am
planning now to work on writing a book with him to preserve those
memories for the rest of the grandchildren in the family. My father
passed away 10 years ago but my mother is still living and was also a
veteran having served as a nurse in the Army during WWII. We do owe
such a great debt to all of those who have served and continue to serve
our country. Thank you to everyone for sharing a little about our
veterans.....it has made today even more meaningful!

We just enjoyed a wonderful Veteran's Day parade on Capitol Street! My
dad served in WWII as a pilot in the US Army. He recently passed away
and we had military rites at his funeral. We are blessed to live in the
home of the free and the brave because of those willing to serve.
