PROGRAM DIRECTOR
Needed to direct the Fairmont, WV office of Try-Again Homes, Inc., a
private nonprofit social services agency specializing in foster care.
Try-Again Homes is committed to providing safe nurturing places for
children in need and dedicated to the growth, development, and
empowerment of individuals and families for healthier communities.
The Director is responsible for the overall operations of the Fairmont
office including supervision of staff in the daily provision of foster
care services and placements, oversight of the foster home approval
process, and quality assurance. The Director represents the Agency
within the social service community and serves as a liaison in
collaborative agency efforts.
Master’s degree in human services field with two years of experience
in child welfare services and a valid WV professional license in
appropriate preferred. Supervisory experience and prior experience
working with Foster Families is also preferred.

POSITION DESCRIPTION

BASE LOCATION: Fairmont, WV SUPERVISOR: Executive Director
RESPONSIBILITIES
Work closely with clinical director and staff to assure correct and
even flow of work in Fairmont office.
Provide direct supervision of casework staff and placement specialist
in the daily provisions of foster care services and placement.
Provide direct supervision of homefinding staff in the daily management
of foster home recruitment, screening, interviewing, placement and
maintenance. One hour weekly face-to-face supervision as well as
attendance at the monthly homefinding meeting. Clinical review of
foster parent file prior to opening of a new home and completion of
final foster parent interview, unless otherwise assigned.
Provide direct supervision of executive secretary and any
transportation staff and/or case aides, as applicable. Bi-monthly
supervision to assure efficient and effective use of auxiliary staff’s
time.
One hour a week face-to-face supervision must be given to each
caseworker and placement specialist in the Fairmont office. Supervision
must be documented.
Must be accessible during working hours to provide direction and
guidance to clinical staff.
Review casenotes and other documents, as needed, but at least monthly,
to assure caseworkers are completing casenotes in a timely and
appropriate manner and are within the state and programmatic
regulations.
Assure caseworkers are seeing clients on a regular basis in accordance
with state and programmatic regulations and client needs.
Must maintain a working knowledge of foster care and credentialing
regulations in accordance with state, agency, funding sources, and
programmatic guidelines. In addition, must assure that workers maintain
proper credentials and follow policies and procedures of state, agency,
and funding sources.
Complete a daily census and have a working knowledge of clinical issues
regarding Fairmont clients and foster parents.

Attend court hearings, meetings, and staffings as needed.
Follow established CQI procedures to assure requirements and agency
standards are
maintained.
Represent TAH and its programs within the social service community and
serve as a liaison in collaborative agency efforts.
Provide supervisory on-call duties.
Licensing supervision of all Try-Again Homes employees who have
temporary social work licenses. Will meet quarterly at Fairmont and
Parkersburg offices.
Provide “back-up” supervision for other WV offices when necessary.
Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or executive director.
Some evening and weekend hours required.
QUALIFICATIONS
Master’s degree preferred or Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or
comparable Human Service field with at least two years of experience, at
least one year of which is in child welfare services.
A valid WV professional license in appropriate field..
Current valid driver’s license. Available and reliable vehicle with
proof of auto insurance and ability to transport clients.
Criminal and background checks completed as per regulations and agency
policies.
Medical examination and TB test.
