VA Social Workers Eligible to Apply to Hartford Faculty Scholars Program
The Hartford Faculty Scholars Program is pleased to announce a new partnership with the Veterans Administration. The Scholars Program will be offering a limited number of eligible academic social workers from the Veterans Health Administration the opportunity to participate in the Faculty Scholars Program. Information regarding eligibility for the program appears below. Those who are interested must send a letter of intent by Nov. 12th to (while the letter of intent is due November 12,2009 the actual application is not due till 2/1/10):

Who is eligible within the VA to apply?
Doctoral level VA employees who have at least one graduate degree from a social work program and have an interest in aging are eligible to apply. In addition to their VA appointment, they may also hold rank of assistant or associate professor at an affiliated academic institution.
What should interested applicants do?
Visit the Hartford Faculty Scholars Program page on the GSWI website at - http://www.gswi.org/programs/hfs.html and click on the Hartford/VA Scholars Program link under the application materials. All interested applicants must receive approval to apply from the VA Office of Academic Affiliations (OAA). A letter of intent must be sent to the VA OAA no later than Nov. 12, 2009.
