Reid Stevens and A-Side 45
Reid Stevens from Hurricane, W.Va. dreams of one day having a record
deal. He got his first bass guitar as a teenager and has been playing
ever since. After years of perfecting his craft, Reid and his family
contacted the West Virginia University Center for Excellence in
Disabilities to enter its Fine Arts Program. Reid, who has had
muscular
dystrophy since he was a child, hopes the CED can assist him in
purchasing the equipment he needs to get his music out there. As one
of
the few musicians who has been affiliated with the program, Reid and
Fine Arts Coordinator Helen Panzironi are excited for what the future
brings. A-Side 45 band members include: Brandon Hughes (lead
guitar),
Phil Washington (bass guitar), and Dave Roberts (drums).
“With the most primitive means the artist creates something which
the
most ingenious and efficient technology will never be able to
create.”
