What:     2009 Disability Celebration and Awareness Forum  

As a part of this event we are offering 4 CEU for social workers. We
have 31 exhibitors committed to displaying their services for persons
with a disability.  Every exhibitor will offer a door prize.  We will
have a Center Court presentation with a speaker to  honor veterans,
JROTC Bluefield High Color Guard performance, awards for grade school
poster contests, recognitions, and speaker to declare October disability
Awareness month and give a proclamation. 


Who:      CEU Speakers & Workshop are:

                  Angela Vaught & Renee Reedy - Social Security &
Medicaid Work Incentives, WIPS, MWin = 1.5 CEU

                 Cari Stone -Autism in the Work World = 1.5 CEU

                 Dr. John David Smith- Developmental Disabilities 1.0 CEU

 
Cost:    $50.00 for all workshops and save 10.00 if attend them all.

            Or 7.50 per half hour, therefore 1 hours course costs 15.00,
1.5 hours = 22.50

            Workshops are free to general public not seeking CEU credit

 

Where to Send Payment:  Make all checks payable to Mercer County

When:   Wednesday, October 21, 2009, from 9:30 AM to 4:00 PM

 

Where:  Mercer Mall from 9:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Registration begins at 9:30
AM for CEU's

                  To register for the workshops for CEU, you can enter
the building between Roses and Famous Labels, which is Entrance # 3,
which is on the back side of Roses. The registration table will be in
the hall.  The entrance has a green awning over it. 

 

Why:  The goal of the 2009 Disability Celebration and Awareness Forum is
to promote disability employment awareness in the community among
professionals, employers, and community members.  To achieve this goal
various activities involving the sharing of resources, networking, and
educational opportunities will be provided.
