Counselor (COMMED 135)
The West Virginia University Research Corporation (WVURC) seeks to hire multiple Counselors in the Department of Community Medicine to support the Prescription Drug Abuse Quitline at West Virginia University. Each will focus on providing treatment center referral information, counseling and advising individuals with prescription drug abuse or other addiction problems including abuse of alcohol or other drugs to assist in overcoming dependencies. Interventions will occur over the telephone and require the counselor to be skilled with establishing trust while collecting data. Requires a bachelors degree in Counseling or related field, 1 to 3 years experience in counseling, or equivalent combination of education and experience. This position is part-time, less than 30 hours/week and non-benefits eligible. The position may require evening hours. The work is on-site at HSC of WVU in an office setting.
