Are you considering board service, or desiring to be more effective in
your current role as a board member? This workshop will help new and
prospective board members gain an appreciation for the roles and
responsibilities of nonprofit boards, individual board members.
Participants will gain:
● an understanding of the primary roles and responsibilities of
nonprofit board members.
● an understanding of self governance principles for nonprofit
organizations.
● an understanding of how to evaluate board performance.
● an understanding of strategies for recruiting and maintaining a
strong board of directors.
This workshop has been approved for a maximum of 3.5 continuing
education hours for licensed Social Workers, (WV, MD,PA, & VA), under
the West Virginia University School of Applied Social Sciences Division
of Social Work WVBSWE Provider #490051.
This workshop has been approved for 3.5 hours towards the WVU
Continuing Education Certificate in Nonprofit Management under the
category of Boards of Directors/Governance – Board Self Governance.
