Celebrate Social Work Month with the Graduate Social Work Organization and WVU Division of Social Work
"Disaster Social Work: When All Hell Breaks Loose"
Tuesday March 4th at Erikson Alumni Center, Morgantown, WV

Presenters:
Dr. Michael Zakour- Associate Professor, WVU Division of Social Work
Dr. Brian Gerber- Associate Professor, WVU Division of Public
Administration
David Hoge- Deputy Director, WV Department of Military Affairs &
Public Safety
Dr. Michael Zakour has been conducting disaster social work
research,education, and service since 1984, the same year he earned
his MSW. He has also studied disaster preparedness and served a 15
year residence in New Orleans.
Dr.Brian Gerber is a disaster policy researcher who studies issues
related to disaster evacuations and persons with disabilities.
David Hoge worked with the Red Cross for 14 years. During that
time, he worked directly with individuals affected by big and small
disasters. Currently, he works as Deputy Director for the WV
Department of Military Affairs & Public Safety and he is largely
involved in HS planning and grant management.
