The MD Dept. of Public Safety & Correctional Services is recruiting for
social work vacancies at North Branch Correctional Institution and
Western Correctional Institution in Cumberland, MD.  Candidates must
possess a master's degree in social work and be eligible for licensing
by the Maryland State Board of Social Work Examiners.  Both facilities
are medium/maximum security institutions housing male offenders.  Job
responsibilities include facilitating groups, release planning of
special needs inmates, individual and crisis counseling, and handling
day to day inmate requests as well as participation in
multi-disciplinary team meetings.  Starting salary for a Social Worker I
is $38,594 with regular yearly increases and a state benefits package.
