There are still openings for the Advanced Clincial Training for Interventions with LGBT Individuals and Communities on Friday, May 11, in Morgantown, WV, from 9-5pm at the National Resource Center for Coal and Energy (NRCCE) Building. The rate is $80 and includes lunch as well as 7 hours of SW CEUs. If you have 3 or more people from your agency, you will receive a $10 discount on each participant.
This workshop will help participants develop a critical understanding of issues faced by lesbians, gays, bisexuals, and transgender clients. The session will take a broad view, examining LGBT sexuality from legal, psychological, biological, cultural, ethical, and philosophical frameworks with a particular emphasis on appropriate clinical interventions with LGBT clients. This course will challenge you as a social practitioner to examine your clinical training and/or personal assumptions about the role gender, sexism and heterosexism play in how we interact with your clients. Health/mental health issues, evaluation and treatment for LGBT individuals will also be emphasized.
Hope to see you there!
