Capitol Conference Center and Main Capitol (both on
Capitol Grounds)
We hope to have a HUGE turnout from throughout the state to show our
Legislators that social workers are WATCHING them and are very
interested in issues affecting our profession and the people we serve.

Brief overview of 1 - 4 issues of importance to
Social Workers
Numbers Talk---The Power of Social Work
10:30 Capitol Bldg. Proclamations read in both the House
and Senate Chambers on the social work profession.
Lunch. On your own. We will provide options.
Meeting with Legislators/observe Legislators in action.
2:00 Meet back at the Conference Center.
Senator/Social Worker Jon Blair Hunter will address
happenings in the Legislature
2:30 - 3:00 Wrap up-- Experiences at the Capitol

2007 Reception Honoring the Contributions of Professional Social
Workers 6:15 to 8:00 PM Charleston Marriott Hotel
Social Work Day at the Legislature is a special continuing education
event at the WV State Capitol involving public recognition in honor of
our profession, opportunities to meet and see your elected officials in
action, policy updates, and more! The day is followed by our annual
Reception Honoring Contributions of Professional Social Workers.
Who Should Attend
NASW Members, Social Workers and Social Work students who want a
greater understanding of the policy issues affecting our profession. The
focus of the day is educational, and is appropriate for public sector
employees and all other participants.
