Hello all! I just got this E-mail from Compeer Inc. If anyone knows a person with schozophrenia (under the age of 30) that would like to participate in an MTV True Life episode, please refer them to me. Thank you!

Pete has been discussing with MTV Compeer clients participating in a program about schizophrenia. The program is "MTV True Life: I Have Schizophrenia" they have done program on depression. The programming is a peer to peer production on how to manage your life from someone experiencing an illness.

MTV would like to begin filming in November and December 2007. If Compeer is interested in participating in this program, we will need to find clients with schizophrenia that are interested in participating in the program (we should check with their therapist that this would not adversely affect the client's health). If it's a go from the therapist's and client's perspective, we would furnish MTV with their contact information. MTV would call the client, decide who would best tell their story and MTV would travel to the person and begin filming.

MTV does not want anyone older than 30 to be represented in the film.

  1. What are your thoughts on this proposal?
  2. Can you solicit candidates that would like to share their story?
  3. Someone who has been diagnosed a few years and someone who has
been diagnosed for several years and can share lessons learned.

Please respond to me ASAP. If we are going to do this we need to move on it.

  Mary Ellen
