Subject: Intuit Tax Freedom Project NOW AVAILABLE
Thank you for your past support of the Intuit Tax Freedom Project.
Eligible
taxpayers in your community can NOW electronically prepare and file
their
tax returns for FREE by visiting the Intuit Tax Freedom Project
website,
www.taxfreedom.com <http://www.taxfreedom.com/> .
Each year, Intuit donates TurboTaxR OnlineSM, the #1 rated, best
selling tax
preparation product year after year, to hard-working Americans and
their
families. TurboTax helps eliminate filing errors and reminds taxpayers
to
take credits and deductions for which they qualify - such as the
Earned
Income Credit and Child Tax Credit - putting much needed income in the
pockets of lower-income and deserving taxpayers. Since 1998, Intuit
has
donated more than 13 million returns.
To qualify for a free federal return for tax year 2006, taxpayers must
begin
their return at www.taxfreedom.com <http://www.taxfreedom.com/> and
meet
one of the following requirements:
* Earned $27,000 Adjusted Gross Income (AGI) or less in 2006;
OR
* Qualify for the Earned Income Credit (EIC); OR
* Served Active Military Duty - includes Reservists and
National
Guard - with a 2006 Form W-2 from the military and earned an AGI of
$52,000
or less.
Taxpayers also qualify for a free state return if they are eligible for
a
free federal return, and are filing in one of the following twenty-one
Free
File Alliance states: Alabama, Arkansas, Arizona, Georgia, Idaho,
Iowa,
Kentucky, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Mississippi,
Montana, New York, North Dakota, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Oregon,
Rhode
Island, Vermont, and West Virginia.
Taxpayers filing in other states who are eligible for a free federal
return
may choose to only print or e-file their federal return (and not the
state)
or they may pay the state return filing fee of $9.95 and print or
e-file
both their federal and state returns. As you know, e-filing is the
quickest
way to get your refund.
In addition, we've updated our information website
(www.taxfreedom.com/info
which
contains Online Resources - web images, flyers, an envelope stuffer, a
news
release, and other tools - to help you get the word out to people in
your
community who can benefit.
We look forward to working with you again this year. If you have any
questions, please free to contact either me
([log in to unmask]), or Lori Baux ([log in to unmask]).
Sincerely,
Dave Macklin
