Gender Issues in the Workplace
The workshop begins with a discussion of gender as socially constructed rather than biologically determined. Historical and cross-cultural examples of gender as a principle for the organization of work are provided. The majority of the workshop focuses on contemporary gender issues in the workplace. These issues include sex-typing of jobs and occupational segregation; gender differences in promotions and workplace authority; legal aspects of sexual harassment; strategies for promoting positive interactions among co-workers of the opposite sex; and balancing work and family responsibilities.

Developmental Disabilities Related Issues in Clinical Practice
This seminar will explore contemporary issues and approaches in supporting persons who have developmental disabilities. The seminar will focus on: the underlying principles of integration, independence, inclusion, productivity, and self-determination; some lessons learned from the history of the treatment of people; the phenomena and effects of the devaluation of people with developmental disabilities; the effects of achieving valued social roles; some strategies to assist individuals to achieve fulfilling and

Advanced Ethical Issues
A brief overview of the use of ethics differentially across fields of practice will be presented. A working paradigm will be explained. It will be a workshop assumption that participants know basic ethics and ethics specific to their profession.
