This is a forwarded email from the WV Chapter of the NASW. The content
includes info on the Aged and Disabled Waiver program and information on
the Children's Justice Task Force Conference:
The Legislative Auditor's office is now reviewing the Medicaid Aged and
Disabled Waiver Program. Legislative Auditor, John Silvia (Phone:
347-4891; Fax: 347-4939) is interested in receiving information,
comments and/or testimony regarding the following types of questions
(related to the establishment/effects of the new eligibility guidelines
that were in effect until recently):
- What was/has been the experience of individuals as a result of being
removed from the program (due to the new eligibility guidelines)?
- How did the new eligibility guidelines come about?
- Who wrote the new eligibility guidelines?
- Did the State of West Virginia end up paying more for services for
some individuals as a result of the new guidelines? (in nursing home
care, via emergency or other medical services, etc.)
THANK YOU for any assistance you may be able to provide to the
Legislative Auditor.
