Another unique CE event:
Chief Arvol Looking Horse, the spiritual leader of the Lakota, Dakota and Nakota people, will visit campus Oct. 16-17 (Monday and Tuesday) to serve as the 2006 Peace Studies Lecturer and to participate in the annual Peace Tree rededication. “World Peace: White Buffalo Teachings,” is the title of his lecture, which will be 7 p.m. in the Lugar Court Room at the WVU College of Law, Morgantown, WV on Oct. 16. The Peace Tree rededication will be from noon-1 p.m. Oct. 17 at the site of the tree, down from Woodburn Circle. Chief Looking Horse has been praised for advocacy of world peace, which has included visits to war zones in Iraq and the Ground Zero of lower Manhattan.
The lecture on October 16 from 7-9pm is approved for 2 Social Work CEUs. These events are FREE to the public. For those requesting CEUs, a $20 fee is payable at the door (cash, credit card or check payable to WVU). No need to pre-register.
