The WVU Carruth Center for Counseling and Psychological Services and others are sponsoring the 23rd Annual WVU Hypnosis Workshop: The “Art” in the Science of Healing in Morgantown on 10/20-10/22/06
Course Description: This program is intended for physicians, psychologists, dentists, social workers, and professionals in related fields. It is intentionally labeled a workshop since it is designed to be a “hands-on” experience. While it utilizes didactic presentations and demonstrations, all participants will be given supervised training in the induction of trance and its utilization. Because of the emphasis on supervised practice, the number of workshop participants is limited.
There are Basic, Intermediate, and Advanced Tracks.
Course Objectives: After attending this workshop, participants should be able to:
· understand hypnosis and its misconceptions
· utilize hypnosis in various professional settings
· personally use autohypnosis
· use hypnosis in the management of pain
CEUs are available for social workers, nurses, physicians, psychologists, LPCs, dentists, and Alcohol & Drug Counselors.
A limited number of student spaces are available.
