You won't want to miss Faces of Leadership, West Virginia's major annual
gathering of people strengthening communities through volunteer
service. The conference is in Charleston July 11-13 at the Civic Center.
This year's conference includes:
Dynamic keynote speakers: Margaret Wheatley, internationally known
speaker, writer, and consultant about how leadership develops in
communities and organizations; Dr. Vaughan Grisham, community development
leader in how ordinary communities can achieve extraordinary results, and
Jim Hunt, former mayor of Clarksburg and the first president of the
National League of Cities from a small city.
VOAD Disaster Preparedness Pre conference: We're All in This
Together: Empowering People to be Prepared (see PDF file attached)
Academies in Volunteer Leadership and Service Learning: 2 ½ day intensive
training in either volunteer management or service learning. (A few
scholarships remain to the Service Learning Academy)
Governor's Service Awards, presented by Governor Manchin and the First
Lady in 10 categories, hosted by WV Public Radio's Beth Vorhees
Sixty workshops for volunteers, volunteer managers, and staff of
organizations and agencies and their partners on everything from
fundraising and youth involvement, to marketing your program and conflict
resolution.
