Please see below from Dennis Pease, the Chair of the annual Social Work Management Institute. This is an excellent conference - and one that will be even better with your input! Please contact Dennis, Larry, or Sam with your ideas.

Dear Colleagues in NASW West Virginia:
I was pleased to chair the Chapter's annual Social Work Management Institute last year and have agreed to do so again this year. And, like last year, I would like to hear your ideas and thoughts about how to offer more information that those with management responsibilities will be able to use immediately.
I know that most of us continue to deal with fewer staff doing more work with greatly diminished resources. Are any of you having the problem that I am confronting in acquiring the necessary staff when I have a position vacancy? Moreover, scheduling to ensure my presence at critical meetings has become a nightmare.
I guess what I am saying is that management in the social services arena is more challenging than ever. That is why our NASW Chapter is so concerned about making its annual management conference meaningful and worthy of the expenditure of your valuable resources and time.
Please help us plan a Management Institute that provides you with the kind of information and networking opportunities you need. Send a list of your management problem areas and training ideas to me, Chapter President Larry Beckett or Executive Director Sam Hickman right away. Help us make this year's Institute the most useful yet!
Thank you!
